Once upon a time, I had a strain called " crystal" which was a black strain that threw some white bettas as well, but I could never get the finnage to improve so finally I decided to give it up. But I like the idea of white "see through" bettas (as opposed to thick white opaques) so I created a new version of the old crystal line. This strain comes from marbles, and will throw white crystals as well as possibly a variety of marbled bettas. These are fun to work with, because of the many possible outcome when you spawn them. They are also much more sturdy than opaques. Which makes them perfect for the beginner. They come in both ST and sometimes DT, so we should see some DT white crystal soon :). White males usually retain their light color as they mature :). Females are very cute. These are almost cellophanes so you can see through their fins :). It gives them a delicate and elegant feel. Some specimen will come out with a light powder green or blue layer, but they are rarer. All in all a great line for the entry level breeder who likes white bettas, who wants to get his feet wet and breed :) (oh, and did I mention get a variety of colors out of one single pair? :)) ).
